OSU Coring and Dredging Services

The OSU Coring & Dredging Facility provides marine geologic sampling services for investigators using the UNOLS fleet as well as the ice breaker Healy. Funding for these services to US NSF funded investigators is provided by Ship Facilities Program at NSF. The OSU coring gear is among the best available in the United States, including large-volume and small-volume piston cores (4.1" ID x 30 m and 2.6" ID x 15 m), and a Multicore for undisturbed recovery of sediment-water interface. Seagoing technicians from the facility have operated coring and dredging gear on most UNOLS vessels.

Services are customized to fit your needs, and can include use of hardware, personnel, deck handling gear, refrigerated shipping vans, sample describing services, and permanent archival in the OSU Marine Geology Repository.
